Eaten alive by loneliness and self-torment, the hunchbacked scientist decided to build himself a companion. The one whose vision has been haunting him ever since the world exiled him to the life in the sewers. Ten years have passed until he was finally ready. It was a success. He built her just like he saw her in his dreams - a warm creature one merely had to look at to make him forget all his life's miseries, someone who would love him and care about him, someone who would ease the pains of the mind... and sometimes the pains of the body as well. To make sure she was bonded to him forever (and only partially because of shortage of other resources), he built her out of his own flesh.

Unfortunately, his achievement was by far too successful, and eventually outgrew him. The android very soon got bored of his master. She wanted to leave too see the real world beyond the stinking sewers, but he just wouldn't let her go. She tried escaping, but each and every time she tried the scientist would find her and bring her back.

Eventually, driven to desperation by boredom and disgust by the persistant ugly cripple, she sank herself into an acid tank, which every respecting mad scientist keeps somewhere in his lab. It was only by chance that the scientist saw this and pulled her out in time.

This was the happiest moment of his life.
